We have been off to a great start this year in science. Our labs are bustling with activity as inquiry-based learning continues to be a department focus. We are pleased to announce that our science club is up and running. The club meets every Thursday after school in room 206. Students from all grades are welcome, regardless if they are enrolled in a science course. The club focuses on scientific discussions around current events, and on conducting experiments that go beyond the science curriculum.
In October we sent a team to compete in the Science Olympics at McMaster University. The competition at McMaster was tough, and extensive higher level thinking was required. We are pleased to announce that for the first time, the Richmond Green S.S. team rose to the challenge and earned third place in the Biotechnology competition!
