Co-op Programs

Subject-based Co-op

The Cooperative Education Program integrates classroom theory with practical experience in the workplace. Co-op is based on a partnership between the school, a business or community organization and involves the participation of students, teachers and the workplace. It is a credit-earning program. Cooperative Education programming is the foundation to many specialized programs such as: Militia, Dual Credit, OYAP and Accelerated OYAP.

Each student is supported throughout the process by a dedicated Co-op teacher and a workplace mentor, who work together to create a personalized learning plan tailored to the student’s goals and placement environment. Students build resumes, strengthen employability skills, and network with professionals in their chosen fields, leaving the program better prepared for post-secondary education and the workforce.
